The Turbosmart ALV40 Anti-Lag Valve provides a means to maintain turbine speed and eliminate lag on gear changes & deceleration.
Boost pressure from the turbo is diverted around the engine on these closed throttle situations and combined with a fuel and ignition strategy (from the ECU) ensuring the turbine speed is maintained and useable boost is on the ready, for when the throttle is opened again.
How It Works - Chris Doumbos, Turbosmart Head Engineer states “The valve allows for incoming fresh air to be diverted safely into the exhaust manifold, pre-turbo with the throttle closed to allow for safer spooling of the turbocharger without the potentially damaging combustion event style anti-lag that can induce high engine & turbo stresses, even break connecting rods”. The valve is a sealed twin-chamber design with the top port being the primary control port, the spring is designed to open under vacuum conditions to allow for the air to bypass into the exhaust manifold, the lower chamber for twin port control methods to control the valve irrespective of manifold pressure and shaft seal allows for leak.”
Diverting the incoming air safely into the exhaust manifold pre-turbine wheel, the Turbosmart Anti-Lag Valve allows for safer spooling of the turbocharger without causing any throttle damage to your vehicle. Boasting a 40mm valve diameter with a purpose designed actuator housing, the sealed twin chamber design is designed to open under vacuum conditions which allows the air to bypass into the exhaust manifold.

Due to the large variety of engine applications, an weld-on outlet flange is required for installation. Turbosmart Weld-on outlet flanges are available to purchase separately.

- Fitting Kit - (2x 1/8” NPT nipple, 2x 1/8” NPT blanking plugs **1x pre-installed**)
IMPORTANT NOTES ON THE TURBOSMART ANTI-LAG VALVE
- Both Rival Motorsport & Turbosmart accepts no responsibility whatsoever for incorrect installation of this product which is potentially hazardous and can cause serious engine damage or personal injury.
- Consult your local tuning specialist before setting up the anti-lag valve, setting anti-lag levels beyond the engines capability may result in engine or turbocharger damage
- anti-lag produces excessive heat in the exhaust system and may shorten the life of your exhaust manifold and turbocharger.
